Networking
and Signposting
Meetings, document circulations and consultations provide opportunities
for members' networking and we can frequently direct you to sources
for information you need.
Sources
of Supply
Our on-line product directory attracts large numbers of relevant searchers.
The main search engines identify member companies' and their products.
Members are also listed in the GAMBICA web site.
Voice
As the Industry's Trade Association, we provide the means by which
the Laboratory Technology sector, and sub-sectors, down to single
member level, can make itself heard on issues of concern, without
the risk of prejudicing positions.
Exports
Groups for exhibitors at the major international fairs are organised,
often attracting Government grants to exhibitors, including Achema,
Analytica, Pittcon, ChemAsia/AnalabAsia, Arab Lab and Medica, as well
as more specialised events.
Our
Export Group promotes co-operation amongst exporting members and presentations
and discussions on major projects.
We
have a database of 1600 overseas distributors of laboratory equipment.
This information is available to members on a country-by-country basis.
Monthly
Newsletter
For the Laboratory Technology Group, a monthly newsletter "Briefing"
provides information on a variety of trade opportunities as well as
industry updates and news on member, technical, customer and general
business issues.
TOLLS
(Tender Opportunity Locator for Laboratory Supplies)
A weekly information service giving details of relevant tender calls
in the UK and EU is available to members. This service, which is subject
to an additional charge, is delivered electronically and provides
some 1200 leads per year for the UK alone.
Special Interest Groups
These provide the Association with the ability to address specific
issues or to direct product enquiries. The current groups cover sterilisers,
diagnostics, biotechnology, complete laboratories, chemicals, analytical
instruments, dealers, export, regulatory affairs, furnishings and
service managers.
NHS
The Association has regular high level dialogue with the NHS Purchasing
and Supply Agency (PaSA) on all matters relating to NHS purchases
of laboratory equipment, diagnostics and service. This extends to
current plans for e-procurement and to environmental issues in procurement.
Links
Close links are also maintained on behalf of the laboratory supply
sector with appropriate government departments and agencies, industry
purchasers, regulatory authorities and related trade organisations.
