GAMBICA EXPLORES POTENTIAL IN WHO & RED CROSS

Partly funded by UK Trade & Investment, Colin Andrews Deputy Director of GAMBICA visited both the World Health Organisation and the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva in March to discover more about their requirements and processes for purchasing laboratory, diagnostics and related equipment.

Colin Andrews commented:
"UK suppliers are clearly well thought of by WHO and ICRC and achieve a significant volume of business, however, there is undoubted potential to do more and various developments in both organisations mean that suppliers with relevant products are missing out if they are not in touch with procurement staff in both organisations."

Colin Andrews was assisted in the visit by Eleanor Baha from the British Consulate in Geneva who has particular responsibility for UK Trade liaison with the International Organisations in Geneva.
