The Engineering And Machinery Alliance (EAMA - of which GAMBICA is a member) is looking to appoint a part-time (2-3 days/week) secretariat to run the alliance that brings together 14 independent trade associations representing circa 2,000 companies, mostly in mechanical and electronic engineering, with sales of £10 billion in capital goods, components and services into the supply chains of all major Industrial segments.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead an alliance, that has doubled the number of participating trade associations in the last 9 years, working on collaborative projects across the membership and raising awareness and understanding of their achievements and potential within Westminster, Whitehall, regionally and locally. EAMA’s aim is to support UK manufacturers by securing better policy outcomes from government and fostering a better perception of the sector among a wide range of stakeholders.
EAMA is looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, written and spoken including leading large groups, who can work autonomously, can assimilate data from diverse sources into useable documents, who has experience in public affairs, working with government and who can be very credible representing EAMA and the Industry at the highest levels.
It is preferable, but not essential, that the individual has some experience of working with trade associations, with diverse stakeholders, has some knowledge of industry policy and the digital agenda and has been involved with lobbying.
The role is offered on a flexible basis at competitive rates based on experience and would suit a self-employed individual operating the same with 1 or 2 other organisations.
If interested please drop a note to the EAMA Chairman – firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time to discuss further and include a copy of your CV.
