GAMBICA provides a range of publications including those produced by ORGALIME, the European federation of national industrial associations representing the European mechanical, electrical, electronic and metal articles industries.

GAMBICA Publications
Technical Guides and Reports

Produced by the various Association Groups within GAMBICA, these publications provide specifiers, designers and users with a clearer understanding of the issues addressed.

Other Publications

ORGALIME Publications
These assist European engineering industry to draw up appropriate contracts and provide practical advice on frequently occurring legal questions.

The first ORGALIME legal publication was issued in the fifties and the current list of publications includes 20 titles, some of which have been revised several times in order to adapt to new legislation.

The General Conditions, the Model Forms and some of the Guides are written to provide practical assistance for companies when they draw up different types of contracts which are commonly used in international trade. The Guides also cover other contractual and legal issues of particular importance for the engineering industry.

All General Conditions and Model Forms have been designed to reflect normal contract practice in industry. It should be noted that ORGALIME represents the interests of both buyers and sellers, licensors and licensees, etc as the engineering industry is its own main customer.

Given that legislation, both national and European, is subject to change, the ORGALIME Legal Affairs working group regularly updates the publications. Changes may therefore occur in the list.

Model Forms
The Model Forms provide help when drawing up contracts which cannot be standardised to the same extent as the General Conditions. The Model Forms therefore contain alternative clauses from which the parties can choose those which are best suited to their individual contract. They also contain blank spaces, which the parties have to complete, and numerous footnotes which explain the effects of different choices. The Model Forms also take into account the applicable law, eg competition rules, and therefore ensure users that their contract will be in conformity with the law.

Guides
The Guides cover different contracts, contractual issues and other legal matters of particular importance to the engineering industry. The most recent guide is that on drawing up an international development contract.

General Conditions
The General Conditions can be applied to a contract without amendments or additions. The parties should however always satisfy themselves that the conditions are suitable for their individual contract.
