German companies are up in arms about the sudden re-use by French and Swiss companies of an old law which requires service staff to have an ‘A1’ form from their social security department confirming that they contribute to social security funds in their home nation and that their wages will be in line with those in the country they are working in. In Europe these forms take about a week to obtain so emergency repairs are harder to provide across national borders. Please see form attached.
