Shared cost training - Writing successful bids

16 September 2025, London

This course is designed to help suppliers elevate the quality and effectiveness of their bid submissions in an increasingly competitive public procurement landscape.

Building on core bid writing principles, it provides practical insights into crafting persuasive, well-structured, and compliant tenders.

You’ll explore strategies to improve win rates, including how to tailor responses to buyer priorities, avoid common pitfalls, and make best use of feedback.

In addition, the course examines how generative AI tools can be used ethically to support the bid writing process.

Course Objectives:

Writing Techniques: Learn how to craft clear, compelling, and persuasive tender responses that align with evaluation criteria and buyer needs, focusing on structure, tone, and evidence-based writing.

Using AI Effectively and Responsibly: Explore how artificial intelligence can be used to support and enhance your bid writing process—from idea generation to draft refinement—while understanding its limitations, risks, and how to maintain authenticity and compliance.

Differentiation and Impact: Develop the ability to write with confidence, highlighting your organisation’s value proposition, social value contributions, and unique selling points in a way that resonates with evaluators.

Strategic Insight and Feedback Use: Understand how to respond to feedback, leverage previous scoring data, and refine future tenders using lessons learned from both successful and unsuccessful bids.

Practical Application: Apply learning to your own live or upcoming tenders through scenario-based activities, peer discussion, and exercises designed to strengthen your writing and strategic thinking.

The trainer will be public sector tendering expert, qualified trainer, and member of the British School of Coaching, Gemma Waring. Gemma has been running a bid-writing consultancy for 17 years and she has prepared this course specifically for lab supplier personnel.

This is shared cost training and the fee for the course will depend on how many people wish to attend. If six attend the cost will be £500 per person, if 12 attend, it will be £250.

The venue will be decided to suit the majority of delegates and can be run in member offices or GAMBICA's London office.
