GAMBICA is growing with the announcement of a new group at the trusted trade association, the GAMBICA Cleaning Systems Group.

The organisation, who already represent the interests of the instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory technology sectors in the UK, welcomes five new members from the commercial and industrial cleaning industries. Kärcher, Nilfisk, Numatic, Solenis and Tennant are the founding members of the new group.

One of the group’s main priorities is co-ordination and compatibility of EU and UK product regulations including Machinery Regulation, the Cyber Resilience Act, Ecodesign Sustainable Product Regulation and Batteries Regulation.

A further priority is to assist the Health & Safety Executive by providing technical guidance on selecting vacuum cleaning equipment for hazardous locations and explosive atmospheres.

Steve Brambley, GAMBICA Chief Executive, said: “It’s very exciting to bring on board a completely new industry focus, but one that shares the same core challenges and objectives as our other sectors.

“Our membership pillars of knowledge, influence and community, plus our well-established government relations and expertise in standards, deliver tangible value to the group. At the same time, the new members bring their own expertise and industry knowledge to the benefit of the association and the wider membership.”

A representative from the group, Steven Saunders - National Indirect Sales Manager at Nilfisk, said: “We’re proud to join forces with GAMBICA to help shape industry standards across commercial cleaning equipment.

“By sharing our expertise, we aim to drive innovation, support stronger regulation, and champion best practices—highlighting dust filtration as a key area for protecting workers and raising safety across the sector.”
