GAMBICA Board vote in new VP

06 Feb 2024

The GAMBICA Board has voted in a new Vice President appointment, strengthening the team of ambassadors and advocates governing the trade association.

Ken Maclachlan, who previously served as GAMBICA’s Laboratory sector Chair, will take up the VP role this year. This also means he will become the new Association President in 2025.

Ken, representing member company Hycor Biomedical, said: "I’m absolutely delighted to become the next VP. I have been working in industry for over 40 years and feel that it is only right to give back now that I have the opportunity.

“I have been very impressed with some of the newer GAMBICA initiatives, particularly the GUIC bringing industry and academia together for collaboration plus the GYC, giving younger people an opportunity to become more involved in our sectors.

“GAMBICA has a hard task as it serves a diverse membership. One of my ambitions is to ensure that member companies, irrespective of their size and reach, feel they receive real value from this trade association.”

GAMBICA recently held their annual AGM and announced further changes to the Board:

  • Simon Keogh, Steve Leech and Ludo Chapman will all continue as co-opted members.
  • Martyn Williams officially joins the Board as the Industrial Automation sector representative.
  • Steven Endress will leave the Board at the end of his term as a co-opted member.
  • Debora Marchese, who recently changed job roles, will leave the Board and Graham Heritage, who will retire, will also leave the Board.

Steve Brambley, GAMBICA Chief Executive, said: “Congratulations to Ken, I’m sure he’ll make a fantastic Vice President. I’d also like to thank Steven, Debora and Graham for their service. The Board really is a team effort with influential members of our sectors working together to give valuable input and insight.”
