A strategic partnership, between The Quorum Principle’s organisational collaboration methodology and GAMBICA’s 200-strong membership, looks to unlock performance and competitive advantage for the industrial automation and instrumentation sectors.
GAMBICA, the UK Trade Association for Instrumentation, Control, Automation and Laboratory Technology and The Quorum Principle have forged a partnership, which will give members access to a new approach to manufacturing collaboration.
Research shows that 70% of major transformations fail to deliver the expected value. The reason is not a lack of technology. It is a lack of structured collaboration between the organisations deploying it. Where most Industry 4.0 initiatives focus on connecting machines and systems, The Quorum Principle focuses on breaking down silos within manufacturers and driving genuinely aligned working across the supplier ecosystem.
Under the partnership agreement, GAMBICA members will gain special access to The Quorum Principle’s training and consultancy methodology. The partnership also connects GAMBICA’s membership to a growing ecosystem of solution providers, manufacturers and trade bodies already working within The Quorum Principle framework, including Make UK, the MTA and the Food and Drink Federation.
Steve Brambley, GAMBICA Chief Executive, said: "Collaboration is essential at GAMBICA – from how we engage with members to the way we represent the sector, it’s built on the principle that we achieve more together than apart. That ethos is what The Quorum Principle puts into practice for manufacturers and their supply chains, and it is why this partnership feels like such a natural fit.
"Technology transformation is delivered by people and organisations working together to unlock the potential. The Quorum Principle gives our members a structured framework for doing exactly that, and we are delighted to be bringing it to our community."
John Robinson, Founder and CEO of The Quorum Principle, said: "GAMBICA's members supply the instrumentation, automation and control systems that make manufacturing transformation possible. But more often than not, manufacturers deploy those technologies in isolation and their full potential is never realised.
"This partnership gives GAMBICA members a framework for working differently with their manufacturing customers and other suppliers in the customers estate. That is where the value is."
The partnership with GAMBICA extends The Quorum Principle reach to over 200 member companies spanning industrial automation, process instrumentation and control, test and measurement, and laboratory technology, all sectors that collectively represent a significant share of the UK’s enabling technology supply base.
